What every knitter needs! Review by Alice

I have a much older stitch dictionary that belonged to my mother…it’s heavy! I tuck this one in my knitting bag and it goes with me. My knitting friends often ask me for new stitch ideas and now I’m ready. (Posted on 3/19/2015)

Beautiul! Review by Julie A.

This book is an excellent addition for any stitch library. The author provides clear instructions for both charted and written patterns and gives detailed descriptions for what each pattern should resemble when finished. Good suggestions and information about yarn and needles, too. I recommend it for beginner and experienced alike. And, it is nice to have a book “hot off the press”!

I’ve been wanting a book like this for years! It just arrived in today’s mail; so I haven’t actually used it yet, but I have leafed through and It’s wonderful. Best gift I’ve bought myself in ages.

Complete Knitting Skills Cover photo of book - Complete Knitting Skills by Debbie Tomkies

This is an excellent book if you are a beginner or an experienced knitter. It starts right at the beginning and walks you through all the steps:

Knit Today July 13

“They say that you can’t stop progress, and here’s the ultimate in forward-thinking books. It’s a knitters handbook, plain and simple, but its lessons are backed up by online tutorials, accessed on your smartphone (or your laptop) via QR codes printed in the book. Perfect for those of us who prefer to see techniques in action and who learn by listening, rather than just reading about them or referring to pictures. Debbie teaches key skills including reading patterns, basic stitches and finishing. Follow the lessons and you’ll soon be teaching others!”

The Journal – Spring 14

“The book contains a link to free online ‘YouTube’ tutorials. The idea of watching mini films on my computer didn’t really appeal at first, but now I can see how much easier it is to master techniques by having someone show you how. The tutorials are clear and precise and use the same yarn as in the book, which lends cohesion to the whole. It would be very easy to use this book and the online tutorials in conjunction. I found this book of benefit as a user friendly resource book. I had no hesitation in recommending it to a friend who would like to take up knitting again”. Salliann Cooke, New Forest Guild

Great for new yarn (wool) dyers

By Purple Haze on 20 July 2014

Arrived on time, easy read and explains dyeing well. Lots of ideas for projects and ideas of what to actually do with the yarn once you have dyed it – which is always a challenge as you can make only so many scarfs!!!!!
