Made your first ‘granny square’ but not sure where to go next? Join crochet expert Debbie Tomkies on her fun, friendly Intermediate Crochet workshop at the Yarn Barn, Milnrow. Debbie will be taking you on from the basics with new stitches, crocheting tubes and spirals, increasing, decreasing and shaping. You’ll start crocheting a beanie-style hat on the day to finish at home but there will also be the chance to have a go at some more advanced motif squares too!

Our groups are small, relaxed and friendly and take place at Judith’s lovely, well-stocked yarn emporium.

Cost: £35

Included: All the yarns you will need on the day and a crochet hook, tea/coffee and biscuits (please bring lunch or there is a nearby Spar, Greggs and Subway).

What will I make? You can expect to take home a beanie hat and pattern which you’ll start on the day to finish at home. New ‘granny square’ motifs using new stitches and techniques.

Suitable for: Crocheters should be familiar with making a slipstitch, chain, double crochet and ideally a simple ‘granny square’.

About the tutor: Debbie has over 25 years experience crocheting and has designed for Inside Crochet, Crochet Now, Yarn Forward, Simply Crochet and other crochet magazines. She has been teaching textiles all over the UK and overseas for over 10 years. See some of the feedback from her courses here

For more information and to book your place, please contact Judith directly at the Yarn Barn by email at yarnbarn@me.com or by phone on 01706 750824.

Look forward to seeing you!
