Debbie is an experienced researcher in natural and synthetic dyes, primarily the 1800-1900’s and is happy to undertake commissions, advise on or lead research and historical projects.

 

Completed projects include:

  • The Colour Garden Project
  • Gott dye recipe recreation project
  • Colourful Leeds – Armley Mills exhibition, vox pop video and contribution of  research and materials to Leeds University exhibition
  • Colours from the Past – presentation talk delivered to a number of groups and Guilds
  • Dyes Past and Present – the history of natural dyeing – presentation talk delivered to a number of groups and organisations
  • Nature’s Beautiful Blues – A history of indigo and woad dyeing – presentation talk delivered to a number of groups and organisations
  • Glorious Gardens from Above – featured in BBC programme about gardens with community use in the UK
