Sock blank dyeing is one of my favourite workshops and it’s always great to get back into dyeing after the Christmas break and my first workshop of 2018 was a blast! My students worked their socks off (sorry!) and we had a super day. From polka dots to stripes and even watermelons the room was a positive riot of colour – exactly what you need on a dull day in January!

If you fancy having a go at dyeing your own sock blanks, we were using my Hue & Dye procion mx dyes on our 75/25 superwash BFL/nylon sock blanks. which are spun and knitted up for us specially in the UK from UK Bluefaced Leicester sheep.

Our procion dyes come in individual pots or as a comprehensive kit. The sock blanks are double-stranded (so you get a matching pair – very nifty!) and weigh in at 100g, plenty for a pair of socks with a little over to knit a pouch to put them in. Our sock blanks can also be dyed with our acid dyes, kool aid or natural dye extracts too.

And if you’re keen to try one of my workshops, you can keep up with what’s coming by signing up to the newsletter or by following the What’s On page.

Happy dyeing!
